This policy has been developed to allow PDQ Winstonmead to comply with the requirements of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice.
We recognise that our natural resources have become everyone’s responsibility and we encourage a responsible attitude to our surroundings.
The policy applies to all employees of PDQ Winstonmead, irrespective of whether they are full or part-time, temporary or permanent, based in our own office or off site. This also applies to all visitors to our premises and any other person undertaking work on our behalf.
We are continuously seeking to improve environmental performance through limiting paper waste in the office, recycling packaging materials and running low emission vehicles.
We will:
- Take appropriate steps to minimise any negative impact on the environment and to conserve natural resources.
- Develop appropriate and comprehensive procedures and guidelines to achieve our objectives.
- Introduce appropriate forms of instruction, information, training and supervision to enable employees to assist us in meeting our objectives.
- Appoint competent persons to ensure that the aims of the policy are met.
- Endeavour to make improvements in environmental performance.
- Introduce suitable arrangements to allow for communication and discussion on environmental matters.
- Review annually and where necessary, update this policy and any relevant Environmental Procedures.
We expect similar environmental standards from all our suppliers and contractors.
All waste paper and off cuts are recycled. We only work with paper mills that harvest their trees from sustainable forests.
We actively encourage the use of environmentally friendly and recycled paper and board.
We offer a cartridge collection service to all our customers for cleaning and recycling. As a company, we recycle all our own cartridges.
This policy will be reviewed at least every 2 years, or if circumstances change significantly, and will be updated as necessary.
